Hey, I'm Alex

I'm the main writer for all of the posts you'll find on this site. You can find a little more out about me below.

About me

I was always the fat kid in school. I got bullied for it quite heavily.
I've never been athletic or naturally gifted at any sport.

But at the age of 19, I realised that I needed to place more emphasis on my health. I went to university at the age of 18 and fell into the standard student lifestyle of drinking a lot and not watching what I eat. It wasn't long before I hit 125kg in weight (almost 20 stone for those who don't work in kilos).

So I, the fat kid who was never athletic, started training. I consumed as much information as I could on training and nutrition and started regularly going to the gym. I was quite lucky in the sense that I had someone at my local gym who would do my programming for free. I also had a super active job when I was home for holidays so I ended up losing a really decent chunk of weight - around 4-5 stone over a summer.

In the years following, I tried all sorts of training - bodybuilding, powerlifting, crossfit, boxing, field hockey...the list goes on.

I ended up dropping to around 79kg but unfortunately it didn't last. Over the last few years I've let things slip. That's the reason that this blog exists. I used to write a lot of fitness related content on a Blogspot domain. I've moved all of the most relevant posts over to this site and I'll be adding new ones as I can.

My hope is that this can serve as a resource for people who are trying to get healthier as well as keep me honest as I go through my own journey. I've tried lots of different training/nutrition protocols and supplements so I'll be sharing everything I learn along the way. It would make my day if it helped even just one person on their own journey.
